Hypnosis and Telepathy- The Relation

Telepathy And Hypnosis- Can They Be Interrelated?

Just like hypnosis, telepathy is a phenomenon that has fascinated the humans since a long time now. No wonder it that it fascinates, for the power of communicating with another being only using your mind is mysterious as well as exciting. It won’t be wrong if we say that telepathy is the communication that goes beyond the usage of the five physical senses i.e. ability to hear, see, touch, taste and smell.

It is quite an interesting issue to trace out the interrelation between telepathy and hypnosis with a legitimate and lucid justification to the theme. The history of both the scientific disciplines looks strange and a pragmatic point lies in the fact that both the subjects being discussed here have faced many hurdles in gaining recognition in the even modernizing society since the time they originated.

Are They Really Intertwined?

Hypnosis and Telepathy, both are quite unknown and little understood. This is one of the reasons behind a probable interrelation between them. Apart from this, there are more substantial elements and facts which support the relation between the two. Numerous phenomena, which people consider “psychic” today, are observed to be found more in people who have undergone hypnosis sessions.

“Community Of Sensations”

This is a type of psychic phenomena, in which a hypnotized person reported that he experienced perceiving sensations (smell, taste, etc.) which were being directly experienced by another person, who was far away from him. This is the instance which we today, recognize as “telepathy”.

Hypnosis- Favourable For ESP

Recently, it has been observed that hypnosis is a favourable condition for the occurrence of many forms of Extra Sensory Perception (ESP). In the case of laboratory or experimental tests of ESP, hypnotized people tend to perform much better than the people who are under normal state of mind. The main points which support this argument are as follows:-
  • The subject is in a state of deep relaxation.
  • A hypnotized person induces in himself a state of isolation in response to the directions given by the hypnotist.
  • During any sort of experiments conducted for testing ESP, a hypnotized subject remains free from any sort of external or internal distractions.
All these points indicate towards the point that a hypnotized person has a superior tendency for better performance in ESP activities.

Further Arguments

Hypnosis certainly supports telepathic or, for that instance, any other psychic activity. Some more arguments have been laid down by researchers in this regard, which are as follows:-
  • Retrieval of ESP information is easy in case of a hypnotized person
  • The hypnotized subject is always suggestible
  • The common interventions that occur during ESP activities, such as fears and apprehensions may be avoided with the help of hypnosis
With all the above discussions, it can be stated that the two important issues being discussed over here- hypnosis and telepathy, have a certain degree of interrelation between them. Moreover, the complete truth may still remain a mystery to the normal people.
