Is alternative sexuality a disease? At a time when the world has embraced it with heart, would it entirely wrong to consider it a disease? Many parts of our society still refrain from accepting it. In that case, should it be treated as an infectious disease?
And if it is, how can one be treated from Alternate Sexuality?
We will deal with the issue pragmatically from various angles. Let’s proceed.
Sex has always been talk of the town. Some say ‘Sex sells’, some say ‘It energizes’, some say “it requires experimentation” and some say ‘It’s divine’. We suppose that when ‘Vatsyayana’ composed ‘Kamasutra’, he wouldn’t have ever thought that his creation would be interpreted in numerous ways. Indian Civilization was the first to come up with diverse aspects of sex, and the presentation made it more appealing globally. As sources say, “In ancient era sex was taught as a subject because it had an objective.” This line may astonish you but is a fact! The way we treat sex at present is in completely contrast to what was treated in the ancient era. At that point in time, sex was treated as a divine activity because it wasn’t only for physical satisfaction or to lure someone. Sex, mingled with mental & physical satiation, works wonders.
Depiction of sexuality keeps on changing time to time, and these days a new terminology is in fad ‘Alternate Sexuality’. This is no taboo and it doesn’t sound weird too because people have matured with the passage of time. The acceptance of alternate sexuality is exponentially high. Though, a question arises, “What’s alternate sexuality all about?” Having spoken to people from different class and with adequate research work, we come to the conclusion that in sex when a person tries something out of the box, and that too clandestinely; we refer it as alternate sexuality.
Alternate sexuality is multifaceted. Alternate sexuality consists of different orientations like Bi-sexuals, Homosexuals, Cross-Dresser, and ,now, a new term has been derived ‘Bi-Curious’. People seek various alternatives to quench their thrust, and the availability of resources makes it easily accessible. In big cities, socializing with people can give you a glimpse of alternate sexuality. Heterosexuals are the most unpredictable species of mammal class because their moods swing like anything. Despite indulgence in sexual activities with females, they for seek pleasure with males. They don’t divulge it easily because it’s the hidden desire, which forces them to do so. One of the spokespersons has shared his views, he says,”What’s the harm in experimenting? Male to male chemistry can also be considered and who cares? I am doing it for fun. I sexually happy with me girl friend but it’s my bi-Curious nature, which impels me to enjoy alternate sexuality.” Sound bizarre?
Youngsters are rushing towards metros for career and exposure. Many of them try their luck in sex business; it promises them plethora of money and clandestine social networking work wonders for them in the entire scenario. If you look good, communicative, approachable, and are ready for night-outs to socialize then you are among the ‘fortunates’. People keep seeking alternatives for sexual pleasure and the trapped youngsters gradually realize that it is difficult to get rid of this abnormal lifestyle, which offers them money and sex.
Homosexuals are extensively sensitive species of mammal class. As far as researches, sources, and gay people are concerned, they have never been treated fairly. General mass is quite opinionated about this community. You get mixed and weird reactions when you talk about homosexuals. Some say ‘They behave like sissy’ on the contrary people believe that guys who are misogynist are gay. Some label them as kinky, queer, happy, and brightly colored people. This causes inferiority complex and depression, even if they want to come out of the closet; they can’t because acceptance isn’t there. Biologically, it has been proved that some people are born gay and some have feminine behavior due to some syndrome or disorder. Having known all these facts, bi-sexual and bi-curious still want to take roller a costar ride, after all it’s the question of alternate sexuality.
At times, I personally feel that alternative sexuality gives many things to a common man, like money, sexual satisfaction, exposure to the third world, access to your desired resources, and again an alternative to get new opportunity. More or less person compromises with his morals to allow the growth of alternate sexuality because something which is unnatural, often, is unethical. Whatever you call it- modernization, exposure, personal urge, experimentation or avaricious nature- many, who had only wanted to experiment or fell a prey to a trap, tries to get out of the new found life. But, by then, he is unable to mould himself again. It requires a lot of grit and courage, along with requisite guidance.
Alternate sexuality does not come out as a disease. But there are many who wish to dispense with it. Now, whom should they look up to?
